Zagreb, 05 June 2017 - Commemoration of Croatian Diplomacy Day

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs marked today, 5 June 2017, the Croatian Diplomacy Day. At the traditional commemoration, diplomas were presented to 17th generation students of the One-Year Professional Diplomatic Study at the MFAE Diplomatic Academy. Addresses were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier and Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

The Croatian Diplomacy Day is observed on 7 June, the day when in 879 Pope John VIII sent a letter to Duke Branimir, recognizing his earthly ruling over Croatia, which represented Croatia’s first international recognition as a sovereign and independent state.
