  • He graduated Geography at the University of Zagreb, and earned an M.A. in International Boundaries at the Durham University, UK, with the help of the British Chevening Scholarship.


  • In 1999 and 2000 he worked for the OSCE Election Observation Mission to Croatia.
  • Since 2000 he has been employed by the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked at the Stability Pact Department, EU Department and Policy Planning Department.
  • He was twice posted to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations in New York (2002-2006 and 2007-2011). In his second posting to New York, he was part of Croatia's Security Council team (2008-2009) and was in charge of the Croatian Chairmanship of the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee.
  • From beginning of 2012 to July 2013 he was Foreign Policy Advisor to the Croatian Prime Minister.
  • On 1 August 2013, he was appointed Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Agency in Bruxelles.
