Married with one son
He graduated Geography at the University of Zagreb, and earned an M.A. in International Boundaries at the Durham University, UK, with the help of the British Chevening Scholarship.
In 1999 and 2000 he worked for the OSCE Election Observation Mission to Croatia.
Since 2000 he has been employed by the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked at the Stability Pact Department, EU Department and Policy Planning Department.
He was twice posted to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations in New York (2002-2006 and 2007-2011). In his second posting to New York, he was part of Croatia's Security Council team (2008-2009) and was in charge of the Croatian Chairmanship of the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee.
From beginning of 2012 to July 2013 he was Foreign Policy Advisor to the Croatian Prime Minister.
On 1 August 2013, he was appointed Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Agency in Bruxelles.
